How to Make a PATI Request

Making a PATI request can be as easy as posting a question or comment on social media:

  1. Decide what records you want. You can ask for information recorded any in format, such as reports, emails, recordings, meeting minutes, invoice, etc.
  2. Figure out which public authority has the records you want. You can find a list of public authorities on this website here.
  3. Make your request in writing and submit your request by email or letter directly to the public authority. You will receive a response in 6 weeks, unless the public authority needs another 6 weeks to process complex requests. If you are dissatisfied with the responses, you have a right to an independent review by the Information Commissioner.
  4. Know, Understand, Share! Any information you obtain can be used and shared.
