Ms. Caitlin Conyers previously joined the ICO as an Investigation Officer in July 2018, but left the position in January 2020 to represent Bermuda as an elite cyclist. As of September 2023, Ms. Conyers has returned to the ICO to provide temporary relief coverage as an Investigation Officer until March 2024.
Ms. Conyers has an undergraduate degree in African and African American Studies from the University of Virginia and completed her Graduate Diploma in Law and Bar Professional Training Course in England in 2014. On returning to Bermuda, Ms. Conyers undertook a pupillage in litigation at Kennedys Ltd. and was called to the Bermuda Bar in March 2017.
During her studies, Ms. Conyers also completed an LL.M. in Public International Law at the London School of Economics and spent a year clerking at the Constitutional Court of South Africa and interning at the Legal Resources Centre in Johannesburg. She has a keen interest in constitutional and human rights law and understands the importance that access to information plays in ensuring these rights are upheld.
